The Simplehuman bottle dock is designed to keep water bottles organized while maintaining a clean, clutter-free countertop. It accommodates and dries up to three extra-large bottles or tumblers—specifically those not suited for the dishwasher—along with their lids and straws.
Our research identified size as the dominant trend in hydration products, with 40 oz bottles leading the category. In response, the bottle dock is engineered to hold up to three 40 oz bottles, plus their accompanying components, without compromise.
Because many kitchens position dish racks adjacent to the sink, we knew we couldn't design a water drainage system to empty into a sink. Instead, we came up with the idea for a passive water management solution using a diatomaceous earth base. This material naturally absorbs and dissipates moisture, enabling true placement flexibility while maintaining a clean, controlled footprint.
Airflow is a critical component of a drying rack, and we designed the bottle dock to allow for the maximum flow of air around each bottle and component. This "smart airflow" system was designed and tuned to speed up the drying process and the result is a system that performs efficiently without relying on mechanical intervention.
The wire rack features silicone-capped supports that minimize contact for faster drying and securely hold bottles in place while protecting surfaces from chips and scratches.
Since proper cleaning requires bottles to be fully disassembled, we designed dedicated placements for each element. Every component has a defined position, reducing clutter, preventing loss, improving overall organization, and reinforces a sense of order through form
