The Simplehuman knife block was designed as an accessory for their steel frame dishrack and attaches to the side of the dishrack.
It can hold up to 9 knives, including a side pocket for holding a large chef's knife. The knife block has a strong steel body with a bamboo top that lets your knives air-dry safely, stay sharper longer, and look good doing it.
The bamboo for the block was chosen because it is naturally anti-microbial and is easy on knife edges, while being naturally resistant to water. A system of pathways was designed into the bamboo block to accommodate the knives in a compact space.
The knife block utilizes a rubber pad that sits against the side of the dishrack to prevent scratching and an integrated metal hook to firmly secure it to the dishrack.
