The simplehuman Compost Caddy was designed to make the experience of composting easier, more efficient and more pleasant.
The compost caddy was designed with a magnetic dock that allows it to attach to the side of a simplehuman trash can for convenience. A magnet in the lid keeps the lid open during use.
A detachable lid and a smooth inner bucket are designed for efficient removal, dumping and rinsing.
A soft-seal lid allows organics to breathe, keeping odors under control and pests like fruit flies away. The stainless steel body is silver-ion coated to resist fingerprints and germs without dulling the natural sheen and luster of the steel.
The Caddy easily detaches from its dock for use at the kitchen counter for food prep and clean up. Designing the mount to have a secure fit, yet be easily removable and have a great brand experience entailed many prototypes and much user testing, but the results are easily felt while in use.
